Reports are the Red Sox have acquired Victor Martinez from the Indians for Justin Masterson and Nick Hagadone.
It's a great move by Theo. As both a catcher and firstbasemen, having Martinez will let the Sox rest Mike Lowell -- who is breaking down before our eyes -- as well Jason Varitek. His bat is like a steroid shot for the offense (sorry for the bad comparison, especially now). And the Sox keep top prospects like Buchholz, Bard, Bowden and Lowrie to incorporate into the lineup this year or next, or deal them in the offseason.
I like the V-Mart trade. I'm not sure I understand the LaRoche-Kotchman trade though.

Martinez is going to be a great addition.
I know the Sox probably won't like to do it seeing as he's a gold glove infielder, but Youk could even play the outfield, if they ever wanted Youk, Lowell, and Martinez in the same lineup. Especially since Drew's batted .217 in the last month.

Martinez is a great move. I think his versatility is the most underrated part of his game. Guys like him don't come around very often.
